Industry has developed increasingly more interesting applications of asphalt products and their derivates. Specifically, the automotive industry uses asphalt derivatives as "sound-proofing" in vehicles and the industrial application of these products as "water-proofing" in fabrication of asphalt and insulating sheets. Their appropriateness for each industrial use arises from the selection of the most appropriate crude oils to manufacture each one of the tars, according to the requisites to be fulfilled, according to the applications.
