Paraffin wax is extracted from crude oil, solid at room temperature and is used to make a wide range of products, the most well known of which are candles. It is an inert, impermeable, shiny, and biodegradable product which burns without harmful or corrosive fumes being given off.
CEPSA sells the paraffin waxes produced since 1973 at its LUBRISUR (San Roque) plant, under the management system certified in accordance with the standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:1996.

Food grade
CEPSA has in its portfolio hydrotreated paraffins. The hydrotreating process eliminates any odour or substances harmful for people of animals, so allowing that the suitability of certain substances can be guaranteed for food use (In contact with food, e.g., waxed paper for wrapping) and foodstuffs use (forming part of the food, e.g., in the case of gum base for chewing gum).
