The main difference is the cover offered. The CEPSA STAR Card allows you to pay for purchases at CEPSA Service Stations in Spain, Andorra, Gibraltar and Portugal, and to pay tolls and repairs. It also offers en route assistance and other services in these countries. The CEPSA STAR EUROTRAFIC Card extends these advantages to the rest of Europe and Morocco, as well as offering additional services like VAT recovery. If your routes are in Spain, Andorra and Portugal you should opt for the CEPSA STAR Card, but if you run international routes, you need the new CEPSA STAR EUROTRAFIC Card.
CloseNo. Only one kind of Card can be assigned to a vehicle, which will depend on the routes travelled (on Spain, Andorra and Portugal, or the whole of Europe). However, the same firm can have two contracts, one for the CEPSA STAR Card and another for the CEPSA STAR EUROTRAFIC Card to cover all of its vehicles.
CloseYes. The terms and conditions of each Card are different and require different contracts. You need to sign a new contract for vehicles to get the CEPSA STAR EUROTRAFIC Card for those of your vehicles travelling in Europe, which should be deregistered from the CEPSA STAR Card.
CloseYes. To enjoy the VAT recovery service you must tick the appropriate box in the CEPSA STAR EUROTRAFIC Card contract and sign a specific contract. This service does not bear any annual charge and you pay only the commission in respect of services actually provided. The commission will vary depending on the country where the tax is recovered and the option selected (Normal or Express).
