Marketing

CEPSA carries out its commercial activity through traditional sales channels and an extensive national and international network. The incorporation of new points of sale and updating existing ones is one of the Company´s objectives for strengthening links with its customers.

Last year CEPSA's sales in Spain and Portugal totalled 22.6 million tonnes. Consumption on the Spanish and Portuguese markets reached 77.6 million tonnes.

Fuels

The CEPSA service station network in Spain and Portugal has 1,758 outlets, of which 1,483 are located in Spain and the remaining 275 are distributed across Portuguese territory. CEPSA remains market leader in service station shops, with 829 stores in Spain and 39 in Portugal.

Ship fuels

CEPSA is market leader in Spain (including the Canary Islands and the Strait of Gibraltar). It also has an important presence in Morocco and Panama. Moreover, the Company has a strong position in the fishing sector through our subsidiary, Petropesca.

In 2010 we began barge supplying the port of Huelva. Overall, CEPSA's fleet of barges, used exclusively by the Company, includes three in the Canary Islands, five in the Strait of Gibraltar, one in Barcelona and three in Panama.

Aviation fuels

The product supplied for aviation comes mainly from the CEPSA refineries. It is supplied directly to the airlines, performing storage and on board operations at the main Spanish airports, through our subsidiary firms CMD, CEPSA Aviación and Spanish Intoplane Service (SIS). Our clients are major domestic and international airlines.

CEPSA is also a pioneer in the introduction of international electronic invoicing.

Liquefied Petroleum Gases: butane and propane

The butane, propane and auto gas we sell are delivered to homes through a network of 90 distributors. They are also available at more than 2,200 points of sale, 730 of which are at CEPSA service stations. We currently have over 2.5 million customers for these products.

Asphalts

CEPSA manufactures asphalts at the refineries in Tenerife, La Rábida and ASESA in Tarragona (50% CEPSA), with a nominal production capacity of more than a million tonnes per year. In 2010, our subsidiary, PROAS, was awarded the EC mark for manufactured asphalts, which permits the free circulation of these products between member States and their export to international markets.

Lubricants

CEPSA is one of the leading companies in the Spanish market, selling and distributing its lubricants in all sectors and segments under the CEPSA and Ertoil brands. In 2010 sales of base oils, paraffin, finished lubricants and greases amounted to 271,000 tonnes.

Basic petrochemicals

CEPSA is carrying out increasing activity in the petrochemical area, both basic and derived from aromatic hydrocarbons, with a significant level of integration with the "Gibraltar-San Roque" and "La Rábida" refineries. It sells basic raw materials such as benzene, toluene, solvents, propylene, xylene and cyclohexane.

Logistics and exports

CEPSA has efficient transport systems which enable it to meet the demands of numerous customers in different places within an established timescale, supplying fuel to ships in ports, aeroplanes at airports, to service stations and power stations.

We transport some 73 million tonnes of products by road and rail within the Iberian Peninsula.
