- The San Roque and Palos industrial centers are taking part in this initiative
- In addition to visits to different companies, this program, promoted by the European Commission, addresses the key challenges faced by industry
Cepsa is taking part in the European Union’s Industry Open Doors initiative, together with other companies from the sector. It has organized two special days at the energy industry sites of San Roque (Cadiz) and Palos de la Frontera (Huelva).
These will take place on 20 March at San Roque and at San Roque and Palos de la Frontera the following day. Students from the University of Cádiz (UCA) and the University of Huelva (UHU) will learn from Cepsa professionals about the day-to-day work of the refineries, the products they sell and how they affect citizens’ daily lives. After the theoretical presentation, the students will tour the refineries’ installations for a close-up view of how they work and what the different units look like.
This initiative forms part of the EU Industry Days 2019, which aim to address the key challenges of industry, such as sustainability, digitization, investment and globalization. The main event took place in Brussels on 5 and 6 of February, with the participation of 1,800 people from all over Europe, including representatives of companies, labor unions and public authorities. The initiative also includes local events to be held until March, such as the open days at the refineries.

Cepsa Open Days
Meanwhile, Cepsa already has its own Open Days program for society to visit its energy industry centers, an exercise in transparency designed to make it better known in the surrounding areas, especially with regard to its management model, based on safety and the environment, and how the final result will improve citizens’ lives.
