- Visitors saw the Company's industrial facilities, and also the Carteia site and the Madrevieja Environmental Station.
- The star attractions in the visits were the “Energy Notebooks” and “World Wetlands Day” programs
A total of 2,451 people visited Cepsa's facilities in San Roque in 2016, practically double the number of visitors in 2015, making last year a new visits record for the Company. Communities in the area can find out about the refining, petrochemicals and energy industry through Cepsa’s Open Days policy, which has always been one of its hallmarks.
The cycle of visits begins in January with the “Energy Notebooks” and “World Wetlands Day” school programs. Through these two initiatives, 786 students from 18 schools attended Cepsa's facilities in San Roque and the Madrevieja Environmental Station in 2016.
In addition to these programs there are also programs for neighborhood associations and groups of secondary and high school pupils, and university students, in most cases with energy or occupational hazard prevention qualifications. Those groups who wished to extend the program could do so by taking a tour of the Carteia site or the Madrevieja Environmental Station; two sites in which Cepsa has taken part in enhancing.
Open Day
The Open Days were held in April. More than 350 people, mainly from the Campo de Gibraltar and other nearby towns, came to the Company's San Roque facilities to learn about this industrial complex, its production processes and the Company's environmental, safety, quality and corporate responsibility policies.
Several institutional visits took place to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Gibraltar-San Roque Refinery, such as that of the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Susana Díaz, and the members of her Government team. And at local level, all members of the San Roque Town Council paid us a visit.
All these visits allow the Company to fulfill its commitment to transparency and maintaining a permanent dialog with society.
