- Aenor finds that the Company complies with the agreement signed with the Bahía de Algeciras Port Authority (APBA)
- The objective of this agreement is to optimize the management of environmental efficiency in relation to technical equipment and materials
Cepsa's San Roque site submitted its port facilities to an environmental audit, performed by Aenor, which has confirmed that the activities of loading and unloading crude and petroleum products are carried out in compliance with the requirements imposed by the Bahía de Algeciras Port Authority (APBA).
This finding means the renewal of the Good Environmental Practices agreement signed with APBA, the objective of which is to optimize the management of environmental efficiency in relation to the technical equipment and materials used at the maritime terminal. This agreement provides discounts for the Company if it complies with the specified conditions, which are set out in the good practices guides approved by Ports of the State, as well as in the environmental conduct codes approved by the Port Authority.
The requirements that must be met by Cepsa include the conduct of an independent audit, which allows APBA to determine the degree of compliance with the signed agreement. For this reason, the Company must submit the annual audit reports, as well as an environmental statement, to the Port Authority so that it can assess the degree of compliance.
This environmental statement contains a summary of all activities carried out by the Maritime Terminal of the Gibraltar-San Roque Refinery, including the handling and dispatch of its products from the port facilities, whose environmental aspects must be kept within the limits demanded by the applicable legislation.
The Maritime Terminal of the Gibraltar-San Roque Refinery receives an annual total of 11.9 million tons of crude, which is the refinery's raw material, while more than 8.5 million tons of finished products leave the terminal for other countries.
