- Fundación Cepsa is committed to training young people and improving the competitiveness of the productive system
In this first edition of the Proformación Scholarships, Fundación Cepsa awarded a total of 60 scholarships throughout Spain, after receiving 333 applications. The grants will enable these students to cover the costs of their education. The scholarships can be used for tuition, school supplies, books, transportation, on-campus meals, and other academic expenses.
The awards ceremony was hosted by Estrella Blanco, head of Fundación Cepsa in Campo de Gibraltar, and Juan Antonio Rodriguez, head of Cepsa Human Resources in San Roque. Ms. Blanco told the students "how proud you must feel because out of 71 applications in the province, you were the ones who received the scholarship. You must see this as an opportunity for the future and commit yourselves to your education, with perseverance and effort. These scholarships show Fundación Cepsa’s commitment to alleviating youth unemployment and improving the competitiveness of the productive system." For his part, Juan Antonio Rodríguez emphasized the professional and personal skills required by today's companies and gave an overview of possible academic paths and the requirements to become a professional at Cepsa.
The scholarship recipients are students in Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Vocational Training aged between 15 and 30 who are studying in the fields of energy and water, chemistry, safety and environment, mechanical manufacturing, IT and communications, installation and maintenance, electricity and electronics, administration and management or commerce and marketing. In the selection process, the technical secretariat and the evaluation committee took into account the candidates’ academic record and individual circumstances.
Vocational Training is key for Cepsa, where personnel trained in this system carry out their professional careers and, additionally, students do their internships with the support of company mentors, to enter the labor market better prepared once they have finished their studies.
