Being a European benchmark in green hydrogen production is a fundamental part of our Positive Motion strategy for 2030.
Our goal is to lead the production of green hydrogen in Spain and Portugal through the development of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley. This ambitious project, one of the largest in Europe, is based on creating an ecosystem of alliances to drive the production of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives, green ammonia and methanol. All of this with the ultimate goal of contributing to the decarbonization of the industry and heavy land, air, and sea transportation, thanks to green molecules.
In total, the Valley will involve an associated investment of over 3 billion euros and includes the development of a 2GW electrolysis capacity for the production of 300,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, as well as the construction of Europe's largest green ammonia and methanol plants. All of this will be centered around our Energy Parks in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) and San Roque (Cádiz).
The Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, a project with European significance
The European Commission has recognized the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley as one of the Projects of Common Interest (PCI) for the Union, not only for Spain but for the entire European Union. This recognition represents a significant institutional endorsement and opens the doors to apply for public grants and subsidies aimed at promoting renewable energies.
Furthermore, the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley has been included in the Hydrogen Valley platform, a global collaboration tool aimed at analyzing the largest large-scale hydrogen projects. The goal is to facilitate the energy transition and promote integrated projects along the hydrogen value chain.
