Fatty alcohols plant in Indonesia
Together with our joint venture partner Sinar Mas we have built a fatty alcohols plant in Indonesia in order to expand our surfactants business. For the first time we can off customers the raw materials used to make detergents either from fossil or natural sources
How did we do it?
We have worked with a multi-disciplinary team averaging 2,000 people of different nationalities and cultures. Thanks to team work and their dedication we built a self-sufficient plant capable of producing its own energy and treating its own waste and waters.
The result
Our plant in Indonesia covers 22 hectares of land and 300 professionals work there to ensure that quality, safety, and envirionmental standards are met. We manufacture products with raw material certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, which guarantees that our surfactants are from sustainable sources. The plant also supplies fatty alcohols to our chemicals plant in Germany.
