We are aware that our activities have an impact on the environment, but we strive to make it as low as possible. Because we believe that the development of a large energy company and respect for the environment can go hand in hand.

AIR QUALITY
WASTE MANAGEMENT
We manage our waste in an efficient way by applying the rules in this matter. In this way, we are able to reduce consumption and production and we have a lower impact on the environment.
PREVENTION
We use the best techniques to minimize the volume of wastes and reduce their danger.
RE-USE
We separate those materials that can be used again.
RECYCLING
We give part of our waste to authorized managers so they can be used to make other products.
ENERGY VALUATION
We give waste to authorized managers that can be used as alternative fuels.
ELIMINATION
When we can’t carry out one of the previous waste processes, we take them to specified sites according to their categorization.
WATER MANAGEMENT
We use the best techniques to guarantee that waste water from our installations meet the limits set for our business and respect the natural environment. Besides this, every time that we design a new product or we extend our installations we take into account a responsible use of water:
PROTECTION OF SOILS
Prevention is one of our main actions to protect soils and underground waters. We design safe installations and inspection and maintenance programs so not to emit contaminating substances. We continuously measure and control the quality of soils. And in the case of detecting any danger, we have procedures in place to quickly stop the risks.
At Cepsa we make innovation and technology available to confront the biggest challenge of the future, climate change. We seek to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions and have a CO2 emissions control system to guarantee energy efficiency.
Biodiversity is the basis of life on our planet, gives us clean air and water, foods and even the chance to enjoy places of leisure and culture at the reach of everyone. At Cepsa we are committed to preserving it by managing it in an efficient way and participating in research projects and the protection of habitats and ecosystems.
There is also a risk of impacting on the natural environment when we transport substances at our maritime installations. To avoid this we have a strategy in place to prevent and detect contamination and follow best practices to contain accidental spills in time.
