Renewable energies are a key part of our strategy to become a leader in sustainable energy in Spain and Portugal and a benchmark in the energy transition.
In this regard, by 2030, we will develop a portfolio of solar and wind projects with a capacity of 7 GW that will serve to meet the company's energy consumption needs, especially for the production of green hydrogen, an energy vector where we want to lead in this decade.
We already have 1.5 GW currently connected to the grid, representing over 20% of the target set for the end of the decade. Specifically, we are working on the development of twelve photovoltaic solar energy projects in the communities of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Madrid.
Once operational, these facilities will combine for an estimated annual energy output of 3,200 Gwh, equivalent to the consumption from nearly one million homes for one year. Furthermore, the production of this renewable energy will avoid the annual emission of 1,274,000 tons of CO2.
